Annapurna Base Camp Helicopter tour
Trip Overview
Round trek to Annapurna Base Camp will take around 8 - 11 days of your time depending on the route selected. But if you are really short on time but are very interested in reaching the Annapurna Base Camp to experience the majestic views of the Himalayas and landscapes then this trip is just the right one for you.
The helicopter trip to the Annapurna Base Camp can be either started from Kathmandu or from Pokhara. Both options of the plan are briefly described hereunder.
Itinerary
Option 1: Kathmandu to ABC heli tour and back to Kathmandu.
Today, right after early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Kathmandu Domestic Airport terminal for your helicopter flight to one of the most famous destinations - Annapurna Base Camp, where most of the trekkers take a leave from work for around 2 weeks to reach this place.
You will fly towards the west of Kathmandu, directly to the Annapurna Base Camp. Flying over the beautiful cities, local villages of Annapurna and enjoying the landscapes, you will be dropped at the base camp of Annapurna. You can stay at ABC for 15 - 30 minutes maximum to enjoy the views and capture the moments in your cameras. Afterward, you will need to return as holding more time in the ABC without getting properly acclimatized will have a threat of having severe AMS.
The flight will directly take you back to Kathmandu. Drop off at Pokhara is optional if you wish to end your trip in Pokhara.
Option 2: Pokhara to ABC heli tour and back to Pokhara.
If you are already in Pokhara for some tours or short treks, you can opt for a helicopter tour to Annapurna Base Camp to add more adventure in your trip.
From Pokhara, you will fly towards north above the trekking trail of ABC to reach the Base Camp. In this plan also, you will be provided time to stay at ABC for 15 - 30 minutes maximum to enjoy the views and capture the moments in your cameras. Afterward, you will need to return as holding more time in the ABC without getting properly acclimatized will have a threat of having severe AMS.
The flight will directly take you back to either Pokhara or to Kathmandu depending on your request.
